When you see Petroskoi (or Petrozavodsk) on the map you can think “Oh, it’s the North! It’s cold. Snow appears in September!”. But if you think like this you are wrong. September could be warm even in Karelia. So visiting Petroskoi in the end of September was a pretty good idea.
Petroskoi is situated on the coast of Onega lake, and it’s really beautiful to walk there.
Just the lake view without waterfront. You can see other coast because it’s harbour. Square of Onega Lake is 9700 km2.

Maybe it could be unbelievable maybe not but it’s like 10 steps from the lake and it’s still near the center of the town.
